My Dad was the son of Frances and John Samuel Owen, and one of 8 children. His dad was one of the first "Bobbies on the beat" in Kendal Cumbria. They didn't have a very close relationship, and so he moved on, going into the Raf during the second world war. After he was demobbed he worked at Power Sammas Company where he met my mum Jane Eyre Weatherill. They married on 25th June 1955.
He was a hard worker, always providing for his family, even though he had suffered ill health after suffering a heart attack whilst working on a submarine at Barrow in Furness shipyard. He recovered from that to go on to work at Heysham Power Station. My beautiful Dad suffered a massive heart attack on 28th March 1980.
Mum survived 15 years, but never recovered from her loss.

I just wished you had seen your Grandaughter as she is such a star. She is a loving, beautiful girl that you would have been proud of.
I am sure you will be looking down on us, and hope you liked the flowers we gave you and Mum on Xmas Eve.
